Robert Vishny is currently the Charles R. Walgreen Distinguished Service Professor at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, specializing in behavioral institutional finance. He teaches the course 'Behavioral Institutional Finance' and has previously held positions including Assistant Professor and Eric J. Gleacher Distinguished Service Professor. His research covers themes such as market corporate control, corporate governance, governmental influence in the economy, investor sentiment, and the limits of arbitrage. Over his 20-year tenure at Chicago Booth, Vishny has contributed significantly to the fields of finance and economics. His previous roles include Founding Partner at LSV Asset Management, Trustee for the College Retirement Equity Fund (CREF), and Director of the Program on Corporate Finance at the National Bureau of Economic Research. Vishny has played a pivotal role within the American Finance Association and has served as an advisor to the Russian privatization ministry. He completed his undergraduate education at the University of Michigan, obtaining degrees in economics, mathematics, and philosophy, followed by a Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
