Dr. Pratiti Bandopadhayay

Associate Professor

Biography

Pratiti Bandopadhayay is an Associate Professor focused on the study of brain tumors, which are a leading cause of cancer-related death in children. Her lab applies genomic approaches to identify drivers of tumor formation and resistance, alongside functional genomics in cutting-edge molecular oncology. The lab's research aims to uncover the mechanisms of alterations that lead to brain tumors and understand how these processes are shaped by normal brain development. The primary goal is to leverage insights gained from this research to develop novel therapeutic approaches. Projects in her lab encompass computational analyses of genomic data, including DNA, RNA, and epigenetics, generated from tumors, both at bulk and single-cell levels, as well as high-throughput genetic perturbation assays. Additionally, her lab utilizes methods to create patient-derived isogenic neurosphere model systems, emphasizing that significant progress is accelerated through team science, collaborating with multiple scientists and research groups worldwide.
