Daniel Kwok is an Associate Professor in the Schulich School of Engineering at the University of Calgary, specializing in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering. He holds a Bachelor of Applied Science, a Master of Applied Science, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Toronto, earned in 1992, 1994, and 1998 respectively. His research interests encompass a wide range of topics including Nano-MEMS, nanotechnology, and nanofabrication techniques, such as soft-lithography and molecular self-assembly. He investigates critical scientific areas like microchannel flow, interfacial phenomena, surface characterization, and surface thermodynamics. Additionally, his work extends to complex issues in biodiagnosis and simulation methods, including lattice Boltzmann and molecular dynamics for fluidic applications. Throughout his career, Professor Kwok has taught various courses related to mechanical engineering thermodynamics, contributing significantly to the academic community through both teaching and research initiatives.
