Dr. Alexey Fedulov

Biography

Alexey Fedulov is an Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. He completed his MD at St. Petersburg Pavlov Medical University and earned his PhD in Immunology/Allergy Pathophysiology. After finishing a postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard School of Public Health, he transitioned to an Assistant Professor role at Harvard Medical School and Brigham Women's Hospital, where he was recognized with the NIH K99/R00 Pathway Independence Award. Since joining Brown University in 2018, his research has focused on epigenetics, specifically the epigenetic regulation of gene expression and the implications of DNA methylation in various pathologies. His lab develops molecular tools for epigenetic engineering, exploring targeted demethylation as a therapeutic strategy, particularly in diseases like asthma and other lung conditions influenced by environmental factors. Dr. Fedulov has over a decade of teaching experience in public health and pathophysiology.
