Dr. Anthony Koleske

Professor

Biography

Anthony Koleske is the Ensign Professor at Yale School of Medicine, specializing in Molecular Biophysics, Biochemistry, and Neuroscience. He obtained his PhD from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1993 and his BS from the University of Wisconsin in 1988. His research interests include molecular dynamics of synapses and the mechanisms underlying neurodevelopmental disorders such as schizophrenia and autism. Koleske's lab focuses on the interactions of actin filaments and the role of specific proteins, such as cortactin and TRIO, in stabilizing synaptic structures and their potential impact on cognitive function. His work has led to significant advancements in understanding synapse maturation and the molecular pathways involved in various neurodevelopmental disorders. Koleske actively mentors students in cutting-edge scientific research and is committed to promoting diversity and inclusion within the scientific community. He has published extensively in high-impact journals and collaborates frequently with other leading researchers in the field.
