Nicole Lindsay is a Senior Lecturer and Doctoral Supervisor in the School of Psychology at Massey University. She holds a PhD from Massey University, awarded in 2018. Her primary research focuses on spirituality, consciousness, exceptional human experiences, and near-death experiences, with additional interests in ecopsychology. Lindsay employs a mixed-methods approach in her research, incorporating both quantitative and qualitative methods to investigate complex phenomena related to human consciousness and its interplay with the natural world. She is currently exploring 'distant healing intention' through contemporary Māori practices and incorporating integrated Māori knowledge with Western scientific methodologies. Lindsay has supervised multiple doctoral candidates, guiding their research on topics ranging from the psychological impacts of ecological restoration to the relationship between mindfulness and well-being. She has published extensively in academic journals, contributing to the fields of psychology and spirituality, and is recognized for her work in promoting the understanding of cultural identity and environmental consciousness among indigenous populations in New Zealand.
