The Cullen Laboratory applies biomedical engineering principles and technologies to advance the understanding of the causative mechanisms of neural injury and to develop cutting-edge neural tissue engineering-based treatments that promote regeneration and restore function. Established in 2009, the lab has been significantly supported by the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Pennsylvania and has received additional funding from the Department of Veterans Affairs, the National Institutes of Health, the Department of Defense, and the University Research Foundation of the University of Pennsylvania.
