Yves Bourgeois holds a PhD in Urban Planning specializing in Regional International Development from UCLA. He is a Rhodes Scholar who earned an MA in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics from the University of Oxford, an MSc in Science Technology Studies with a focus on Innovation Economics from the University of Edinburgh, and a BA in Politics and Economics from Université de Moncton. He has served as the Dean at Université de Moncton’s Shippagan campus and as Assistant Professor in the Economics Faculty of Business at UNB Saint John, where he taught urban economics and regional economics. Throughout his career, he has worked as a consultant for local, provincial, national, and international organizations, focusing on economic development strategies and leveraging technological change. His research interests include agglomeration economies, smart sustainable cities, digital economy transitions, and the impacts of renewable energy on economic development. He has published two monographs and over 20 scientific chapters and journal articles related to innovation and the knowledge economy.
