Biography

Grace Jianan Gang is an Associate Professor in the Department of Radiology at the Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania. She obtained her Bachelor of Applied Science in Engineering Science from the University of Toronto in 2008 and completed her Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering at the same institution in 2014. Her research expertise spans various areas in medical imaging, including computed tomography and image quality assessment. She focuses on advanced imaging techniques such as cone-beam computed tomography, spectral CT, and tomosynthesis. Grace is also interested in the application of deep learning methodologies to enhance imaging processes and radiomics, which involves extracting high-dimensional data from medical images for better diagnostic and prognostic capabilities. In her role at the University of Pennsylvania, she leads research efforts aimed at optimizing imaging protocols to improve patient outcomes.
