Biography

Raymond Y. Hsu, M.D. is an Associate Professor in Orthopaedics at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and received his medical degree from Cornell University. Dr. Hsu completed his orthopedic residency at Brown University and further specialized with a fellowship in orthopedic trauma followed by another in foot and ankle surgery at the University of Utah. His research focuses on various aspects of orthopedic care, particularly in the elderly population regarding lower extremity fractures, the biomechanics of fracture fixation, efficient resource utilization in orthopedics, and the management of occupational radiation exposure for surgeons. He also emphasizes the appropriate use of advanced imaging technology. In addition to his clinical and research responsibilities, Dr. Hsu serves as the Director of the Brown Orthopedic Residency Program and has previously held roles such as Doctoring Mentor for first-year medical students and Specialty Career Advisor for fourth-year students. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He actively participates in various professional committees related to orthopedic education and practice.
