Dr. Brian Mikolasko

Biography

Brian Mikolasko is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Warren Alpert School of Medicine at Brown University, where he also serves as a clinician educator and palliative medicine physician at Rhode Island Hospital. He is board certified in internal medicine, geriatric medicine, palliative medicine, and addiction medicine. Dr. Mikolasko completed his MD at the Ichan School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City, and he also holds an executive MBA with distinction from Cornell University's SC Johnson Graduate School of Management and Weill Cornell Medical College. His research interests focus on complex symptom management, enhancing primary palliative care practices, and developing educational initiatives within this field. In addition to his academic contributions, he serves on the faculty of the Harvard Macy Institute and has previously held a faculty position at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Mikolasko believes in improving patient care through education and mentorship. Outside of his professional life, he enjoys spending time with his children and engaging in general aviation, scuba diving, snowboarding, and baseball.
