Roger Jiao is an Associate Professor at the George W. Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering. He holds a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and has a strong academic background in mechanical design and intelligent manufacturing from Tianjin University. His research focuses on Computer-Aided Engineering Design and Manufacturing, specifically within the domains of industrial systems engineering, information engineering, and production operations management. He is actively engaged in exploring engineering design methodologies that encompass product family and platform management, customer requirement management, and affective design. Dr. Jiao has held various editorial positions in notable academic journals and has garnered several awards for his research output and contributions to education in engineering. He emphasizes the importance of understanding the total life cycle of products, advocating for a strategic engineering approach to product creation that aligns with the evolving needs of global manufacturing and customer satisfaction.
