Biography

Scott Fraser is a Provost Professor at the University of Southern California, holding appointments in the Departments of Biological Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, Physiology and Biophysics, and specializing in Stem Cell Biology, Regenerative Medicine, Pediatrics, Radiology, and Ophthalmology. His research focuses on quantitative and computational biology, exploring the mechanics of development and regeneration in various organisms. He has been recognized as a member of the National Academy of Medicine and the National Academy of Inventors, attesting to his significant contributions to the field. Fraser's work has established him as a key figure in the advancement of biosciences, particularly through innovative approaches to understanding and influencing biological systems. He has also been honored as a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the American Association for the Advancement of Science, showcasing his impact on both science and society. Fraser served as the Elizabeth Garrett Chair in Convergent Bioscience from March 2015 to May 2020, further emphasizing his leadership role in enhancing interdisciplinary research within the USC community.
