Sandra Alcira Mitre Polin is a radiologist specializing in breast imaging. She joined the Sullivan Breast Center at Sibley Memorial Hospital in 2016. Prior to this, she served as an Assistant Professor of Radiology at Georgetown University from 2003 to 2008 and gained experience working in private practice in the D.C. region. Dr. Polin completed her residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Mount Sinai Medical Center in 2002, where she also served as Chief Resident. She pursued a fellowship in Breast and Body Imaging at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Dr. Polin has published work on the utilization of breast MRI to assess patients' responses to neoadjuvant chemotherapy. Additionally, she has served as Vice President of the Jacobi Medical Society and is currently a member of the American Roentgen Ray Society and the Society of Breast Imaging.
