Dr. Ritu Salani is a Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at UCLA Health, specializing in gynecologic oncology. She completed her MD at Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine in 2001 and went on to earn her MBA from Johns Hopkins University Carey Business School in 2008. Dr. Salani subsequently completed residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Emory University School of Medicine in 2005, followed by fellowships in Gynecologic Oncology at both Emory University and Johns Hopkins. Her clinical focus includes advanced recurrent cervical cancer, where she investigates novel therapies, particularly in the realm of immunotherapy. Dr. Salani has also been involved in significant clinical trials examining the role of immunotherapy in combination with chemoradiation for patients with advanced cervical cancer. Her work aims to optimize surveillance practices and improve patient outcomes in cancer treatment. She has published multiple research articles on topics such as endometrial cancer and ovarian cancer management, contributing to the body of knowledge in gynecologic oncology.
