David Frydrych joined MSU College of Law as an associate professor in 2025, specializing in Trusts & Estates and Property law. He previously served as a senior lecturer at Monash University’s Faculty of Law in Melbourne, Australia, where he taught subjects including Trusts, Property, and Legal Philosophy. His research primarily focuses on rights, jurisprudence, and trusts, with a strong emphasis on legal realism. David has published a monograph, 'Architecture of Rights: Models and Theories' in 2021, and has contributed articles to esteemed peer-reviewed journals such as the Law Quarterly Review and the Oxford Journal of Legal Studies. He is currently researching trusts law, particularly concerning trustees’ rights and commercial/business trusts. David is a full academic member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and has held postdoctoral fellow positions at the National University of Singapore and New York University. He earned a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) and a Master of Laws from the University of Toronto, a Juris Doctor from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York, and a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Oxford.
