Dale Hitchcock is a Senior Scientist in the Energy Materials group at Savannah River National Laboratory (SRNL). He completed his PhD in condensed matter physics at Clemson University in 2019, where he was supervised by Professors Jain and Terry M. Tritt. Before joining SRNL, he spent a year as a postdoctoral researcher. During his doctoral studies, Hitchcock was recognized as the Outstanding Graduate Researcher at Clemson University in 2014. His research focuses on hydrogen isotope interactions in materials, including projects related to additive manufacturing and mechanical metamaterials. His work has led to several contributions to the field, emphasizing the importance of advanced materials in energy applications.
