Dr. Jian Yu

Biography

Jian Yu is a Professor at the Keck School of Medicine of USC, specializing in the mechanistic coupling of intestinal stem cell injury and regeneration. His research focuses on cancer driver-dependent regulation of cell death, stress adaptation, and immunologic outcomes, with the long-term goal of identifying novel targets for agents aimed at colon cancer prevention and treatment. He actively engages in teaching and mentoring students, postdoctoral fellows, and junior faculty. Yu also has a secondary appointment as a Professor of Cancer Biology. Over his career, he has contributed significantly to the understanding of mechanisms underlying cancer treatment and prevention, demonstrating expertise in areas such as immunogenic cell death and chemotherapy efficacy. His scholarly activity is reflected in numerous publications, building a robust body of work that supports advances in cancer research and therapies.
