Biography

Dr. Ashok Saxena is an Adjunct Regents' Professor who has made significant contributions to the fields of mechanical engineering and materials science. With a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Materials Science and Metallurgical Engineering from the University of Cincinnati, Dr. Saxena has been involved in various academic and administrative roles. He has served as provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs at the University of Arkansas and held prestigious endowed chairs including the 21st Century Graduate Research Endowed Chair in Materials Science. His research interests encompass nonlinear fracture mechanics, creep fatigue behavior of materials, structure-property relationships, and the design of remaining life prediction for high-temperature components. Dr. Saxena is also recognized for his work in biomedical engineering and additive manufacturing, showcasing his interdisciplinary approach to research.
