Konstantinos (Kostas) Gerasopoulos is a principal staff scientist and program manager at Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory. His research interests lie in energy storage, semiconductor process technology, advanced fabrication techniques, and novel device systems. He has led projects focusing on the development of wearable sensors, fieldable diagnostics, and flexible batteries. Currently, Dr. Gerasopoulos leads a team of scientists and engineers working on advanced energy-storage materials for next-generation lithium-ion batteries. His energy-storage research at APL was recognized with the 2017 Invention of the Year Award and the 2019 R&D Award. He focuses on leading the Power and Energy mission in APL’s Research and Exploratory Development area, managing internal research projects in emerging energy technologies. His areas of expertise also include battery technology and biomedical device sensors.
