Dr. Sita Reddy

Associate Professor

Biography

Sita Reddy is an Associate Professor specializing in Cancer Biology at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California, where she also serves as Co-Director of the Molecular Medicine PhD Program. Her research focuses on the molecular mechanisms underpinning myotonic dystrophy and the functional roles of muscleblind proteins in cellular integrity and splicing. Reddy's scholarly work includes significant contributions to the understanding of RNA splicing defects and their implications in various myopathies. Her extensive publication record includes articles on topics such as the role of MBNL1 in insulin receptor splicing, cellular response to lamin dysfunction, and the modulation of pre-mRNA splicing by muscleblind proteins. With a commitment to advancing knowledge in her field, Reddy actively engages in interdisciplinary collaboration, aiming to translate her findings into therapeutic strategies for neurodegenerative diseases.
