Biography

Stephanie R. Jones is a Professor of Neuroscience at Brown University, where her research focuses on integrating human brain imaging with computational neuroscience methods to study brain dynamics in health and disease. She collaborates with animal neurophysiologists and clinicians to develop data-driven neural models that offer translational insights into brain function. Her lab aims to bridge the gap between brain imaging signals, such as MEG and EEG, and the underlying neural circuitry. Current projects examine how brain rhythms and dynamics affect perception, attention, decision-making, and various neural pathologies, including depression, autism spectrum disorders, aging, Alzheimer's disease, and schizophrenia. The lab also investigates the effects of brain stimulation techniques, such as TMS, and the role of mind-body practices on brain dynamics. Her interdisciplinary approach seeks to improve treatments for neuropsychological disorders through enhanced understanding of neural mechanisms.
