Shakiba Davari is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the H. Milton Stewart School of Industrial and Systems Engineering. She holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Virginia Tech, specializing in intelligent context-aware augmented reality (AR) and extended reality (XR) interfaces. Her research focuses on bridging applied machine learning with user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design, aiming to develop intelligent systems that enhance usability, efficiency, and productivity. Throughout her Ph.D., Shakiba addressed key challenges in XR, including spatial layout, occlusion, and social intrusiveness, establishing design principles and frameworks for user-centered AR and XR experiences. Shakiba has collaborated with Adobe and Microsoft Research as a Research Scientist Intern, working on context-aware XR solutions that augment productivity. Her ongoing research emphasizes human-centered computational models for intelligent systems that enhance learning, creativity, and productivity across industrial spatial computing applications.
