Paula López-Peña is an Assistant Professor at the Smith School of Business, Queen's University, specializing in Business Economics. Her research focuses on how noncognitive skills and adverse life events influence health and labor market outcomes. She has worked extensively on topics related to entrepreneurship, firm productivity, and the causes and consequences of violence. Before her appointment at Queen's University, Paula was a Postdoctoral Associate and Lecturer at Yale University. She holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Warwick and a Master's in Economics from the London School of Economics. Prior to her doctoral studies, she was a research fellow at the Inter-American Development Bank. Her recent work includes studies on domestic violence, mental health in the workplace, and the economic impacts of COVID-19 on vulnerable populations. Paula has published research in various journals and has received multiple awards for her contributions to the field.
