Biography

Georgia Gkioxari is an assistant professor specializing in computer vision and machine learning. She completed her PhD under the supervision of Jitendra Malik and has previously worked as a research scientist in Meta's FAIR team. Georgia is recognized for her work in design and development of advanced visual perception models that extend the boundaries of current visual capabilities. Her research focuses on several areas including 2D perception, 3D perception, spatial reasoning, and tools for 3D deep learning. As a Packard Fellow and recipient of multiple prestigious awards, including the PAMI Young Researcher Award and Google Faculty Award, Georgia is a leading figure in her field. She has actively contributed to various research projects and has been part of notable collaborations that earned her team the PAMI Mark Everingham Award. Her innovative work has been published extensively and she is committed to advancing the understanding of visual systems in machines. In addition to her role in academia, Georgia is also an advocate for diversity in AI, being named one of the 30 influential women advancing AI.
