Benjamin Reilly is a Teaching Professor in the Department of History at Carnegie Mellon University Qatar. He teaches a variety of courses including World History, the Islamic World, 18th Century Europe, and engages with innovative teleconferencing methods to link students between the Pittsburgh and Qatar campuses. Reilly's research focuses on Environmental History, publishing significant works such as 'Disaster Human History: Case Studies in Nature Society' and exploring topics like the Tropical Surge in Florida during 2005. Since 2010, he has contributed to the field of Environmental History particularly concerning the Arab regions of the Arabian Peninsula. His earlier works on the French Revolution have been featured in reputable journals, including the Social Science History Journal and French History. Reilly is actively involved in discussions regarding the challenges and strategies surrounding overseas branch campuses of higher education and how technology can bridge educational divides. He has been a faculty member since 2004.
