Seungik Baek is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Michigan State University. His research focuses on cardiovascular mechanics, vascular growth remodeling, mechanobiology in tissue engineering, and computational statistical interventions for vascular disease. Dr. Baek completed his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at Texas A&M University in 2003, and he holds a B.S. in Biosystem Engineering from Seoul National University, Korea, which he earned in 1996. Over the years, he has been recognized for his contributions to the field with several prestigious awards including the Withrow Distinguished Scholar Award in 2013 and the NSF CAREER Award in 2012. His work has also been supported through the MSU Intramural Research Grants Program in 2007. Dr. Baek has authored numerous publications in leading journals, reflecting his expertise in computational modeling and experimental methods in biomechanics.
