Biography

Maureen Linker received her Ph.D. in philosophy from the City University of New York, Graduate Center. She currently holds the position of Professor in the Department of Literature, Philosophy, and Arts at the University of Michigan-Dearborn. Her academic work encompasses a variety of areas, including Feminist Philosophy, Logic, Critical Thinking, and Social Epistemology. Maureen has published extensively in several academic journals, including the Criminal Law Quarterly, Social Theory and Practice, and the International Journal of Argumentation. Her notable book, 'Intellectual Empathy: Critical Thinking and Social Justice,' was published by the University of Michigan Press in 2015 and spans 237 pages. Alongside her teaching duties, she has led workshops on topics such as 'Diversity Fatigue,' 'Navigating Difficult Dialogues,' 'Finding Common Ground through Intellectual Empathy,' and 'Managing Cultural Competency.'
