Biography

Tingjun Chen is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Duke University. He received his Bachelor of Science from Tsinghua University in 2014, followed by a Master of Science (2018) and a Ph.D. (2020) from Columbia University. He also completed a postdoctoral position at Yale University in 2021. His research interests revolve around wireless networking, next-generation wireless optical networks, edge cloud computing, Internet-of-Things (IoT), and mobile embedded systems. Throughout his academic career, he has received several awards, including the National Science Foundation CAREER Award and the Google Research Scholar Award. He has contributed significantly to the field of wireless communications, publishing numerous papers on topics such as machine learning applications in networking and full-duplex communication technologies. Chen teaches various courses related to electrical and computer engineering and serves as a principal investigator in several research projects aimed at improving wireless communication systems. His work has been integral in advancing the practical applications of IoT and wireless networks, making notable contributions to both academic and industry settings.
