Biography

Mark Craven is a Professor in the Department of Biostatistics and Medical Informatics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is also an affiliate faculty member in the Department of Computer Sciences. His research focuses on machine learning and quantitative biology, emphasizing the application of computational methods in biomedicine. He serves as the director of the NIH/NLM-funded Computational Informatics Biology Medicine (CIBM) Training Program and is a member of the Carbone Cancer Center and the Center for Genomic Science Innovation. Craven leads a vibrant research group that explores innovative methods in predictive computational phenotyping and participates actively in the NIH's Centers of Excellence in Big Data Computing. His lab is dedicated to advancing the field of machine learning in the context of biological data analysis and medical research.
