Biography

Colin Kane, O.D., is an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, specializing in Neuro-Ophthalmology. His practice focuses on diagnosing and treating conditions that affect the optic nerve and brain-eye communication, including double vision due to neurological issues, ischemic optic neuropathy, optic neuritis, idiopathic intracranial hypertension, and other intracranial masses. Dr. Kane emphasizes patient education, ensuring that individuals understand their conditions and treatment options. He began his career in eye care as an ophthalmic technician and earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from Salus University. Dr. Kane completed his residency in ocular disease at the Baltimore VA Medical Center, gaining additional training in neuro-ophthalmic and retinal diseases. He is affiliated with the Wilmer Eye Institute, where he sees patients in both Baltimore and Columbia, Maryland.
