Dehn Gilmore is a Professor of English and Executive Officer of Humanities at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech). He holds a B.A. from Harvard University and has completed two M.Phil. degrees from the University of Cambridge (Trinity College) and Columbia University. He earned his Ph.D. in 2009. His academic career began with a position as an Assistant Professor at Caltech from 2009 to 2015, after which he was promoted to Professor in 2015 and became the Executive Officer in 2022. Gilmore's research focuses on the relationship between Victorian literature and culture, emphasizing how visual culture—encompassing the art market, museums, and critical discourse—has influenced the formal development of the Victorian novel. His notable work includes the book 'Victorian Novel Space Art: Fictional Form Display' published by Cambridge in 2013. Gilmore continues to work on multiple book-length projects exploring these themes.
