Biography

Chuanfei Dong is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Astronomy at Boston University. He specializes in research related to star-terrestrial planet interactions, focusing on the effects of stellar phenomena on planetary atmospheres and habitability. His work encompasses understanding magnetic reconnection processes, wave-particle interactions, and the application of physics-informed machine learning methodologies in astrophysics. Chen's studies also investigate high-intensity laser-plasma interactions. He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Science and Technology of China, and both master's degrees and a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan. Dong is committed to advancing the field of astronomy through innovative research and education.
