Vincent Reina is a professor and the Associate Chair of the Department of City and Regional Planning at the University of Pennsylvania. He is the Founder and Faculty Director of the Housing Initiative Penn and serves as the Editor Chief of the journal Housing Policy Debate. His research focuses on urban economics and housing policy, contributing to peer-reviewed journals. Reina has received several awards for his work, including the American Planning Association’s article of the year and the Association for Public Policy Analysis and Management’s Dissertation Award. In recognition of his impact, he was awarded the Rising Scholar Award by the Association of Collegiate Schools of Planning. From 2022 to 2024, he served as a Senior Advisor on Housing to the White House Domestic Policy Council, where he addressed national housing affordability and supply challenges. In 2019, Reina established the Housing Initiative Penn, which collaborated with various cities to develop housing assistance programs and strategies. His work has included the creation of housing strategies for Cincinnati and Cleveland and evaluations of emergency rental assistance programs. Reina has also been involved with significant institutions and initiatives related to housing and policy, including the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine's Steering Committee on COVID-19 and housing issues. He has held teaching positions in various courses, focusing on quantitative planning and housing policy.
