Biography

Ana Miljacki is a Professor and Director of the SMArchS Programs at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where she teaches courses on the history and theory of architecture and design. She has previously taught at prestigious institutions such as Columbia University, City College of New York, and Harvard University Graduate School of Design. Miljacki received her Ph.D. in the history and theory of architecture from Harvard University in 2007, holding additional degrees including a Master of Architecture from Rice University and a Bachelor of Arts from Bennington College. Her research interests encompass the role of architecture and architects during the Cold War era in Eastern Europe, as well as theories of postmodernism and the political contexts of contemporary architectural production. She was a part of the curatorial team for the Pavilion project at the 2014 Venice Architecture Biennale, which critically examined architectural offices and their evolution during the 20th century. Through her academic work, Miljacki investigates the intersections of architecture, culture, and politics, contributing rich insights into the field.
