Dr. Joshua Meeks is a Professor of Urology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, with a focus on bladder cancer. He received his MD and PhD degrees from Northwestern University in 2005 and completed his residency in Urology at the same institution in 2011. Dr. Meeks pursued a Urologic Oncology fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in 2012. His clinical work is complemented by his research interests, which center on epigenetics and genetic mutations associated with cancer biology, specifically studying chromatin remodeling genes that play a role in bladder cancer. He aims to develop novel systemic and intravesical therapies to improve survival rates for patients with bladder cancer. In addition to his academic roles, Dr. Meeks is the Section Chief of Robotic Surgery at the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center, where he practices urologic surgery and supervises residency programs. He has actively contributed to various clinical trials and collaborates with multiple professional societies to advance the field of urology.
