Ani Liu is a research-based artist and Carrafiell Assistant Professor at Weitzman School of Design, University of Pennsylvania. Her work explores the intersection of art and science, focusing on how technology influences human subjectivity, culture, and identity. Key themes in her research include gender politics, biopolitics, labor, and the simulation of sexuality. Ani's work has been exhibited at prestigious venues such as the Venice Biennale, Ars Electronica, and the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. She has received numerous awards, including the Princeton Arts Fellowship, NYFA Fellowship, and the Virginia Groot Foundation Fellowship. Ani has taught at institutions such as Harvard Graduate School of Design, Princeton University, and Columbia University. With academic qualifications including a Bachelor of Arts from Dartmouth College, a Master of Architecture from Harvard Graduate School of Design, and a Master of Science from the MIT Media Lab, Ani is passionate about integrating multidisciplinary approaches to art-making and continuously seeks to explore and experiment in her studio-based practice in New York City.
