Dr. Yun Fu

Biography

Yun Fu works as a Design Critic at Harvard Graduate School of Design, focusing on urban planning and design. Since joining the faculty in 2018, Yun has contributed to the Master of Architecture in Urban Design program, co-authoring and teaching the core studio course, Elements of Urban Design. In 2020, Yun became a full-time faculty member and has since developed core curriculum courses on housing, urban design theory, and new design-centric history courses. Yun co-founded SEMESTER, a design research studio that tackles everyday challenges in architecture and urban design. The studio’s projects, such as the Temporary Storage Garden, have been recognized globally, receiving the 2024 Dezeen Design Award. Yun holds a doctoral degree from Harvard University, where during his studies he received several prestigious awards including the AIA Henry Adams Medal. His publications examine sustainability and urban challenges in regions across Asia and the Pacific. Yun's research interests focus on design intelligence applications, urban design dilemmas, and the interplay of architectural practices within evolving contemporary challenges.
