Philip Gibbons is a Professor in the College of Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University, where he is affiliated with the Computer Science Department and the Electrical & Computer Engineering Department. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of California at Berkeley in 1989. Gibbons has extensive experience in research, having worked at the Mathematical Sciences Research Center at AT&T Bell Laboratories from 1990 to 1996, the Information Sciences Research Center at Lucent Bell Laboratories from 1996 to 2001, and at Intel Research Pittsburgh Lablet from 2001 to 2011.
