Biography

Jungyoon Kim is an Associate Professor of Practice in Landscape Architecture at Harvard Graduate School of Design. A registered landscape architect in the Netherlands, and a Professional Landscape Architect in Massachusetts, USA, Kim has extensive experience in diverse scales of landscape architecture. With several completed projects including the Seoul Museum of Craft and Design and the Hyundai Motor Group Global Partnership Center at the University of Gyeongju, Kim's work emphasizes resilience and urbanism. Kim's ongoing projects, such as the Suseongmot Lake Floating Stage in Daegu, Korea, focus on innovative public spaces in the era of climate change. Additionally, Kim co-authored a book titled ‘Alternative Nature' and has presented on various aspects of landscape architecture in East Asia. An educational leader, Kim has expanded design research seminar courses that explore contemporary practices in landscape architecture from regional perspectives. Kim earned a Master of Landscape Architecture from Harvard GSD and a Bachelor of Agriculture from Seoul National University with distinction.
