Biography

Thomas Strohmer is a Professor in the Department of Mathematics at the University of California, Davis. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Vienna, Austria in 1994. His research interests lie in Mathematics Data Science, Applied Harmonic Analysis, Mathematical Signal and Image Processing, and Numerical Algorithms. Throughout his career, he has contributed extensively to these fields through various publications and collaborative research projects. Strohmer is recognized for his work in developing theoretical frameworks and practical applications that bridge mathematics and data science, enabling advancements in computational techniques and methodologies. As a faculty member at UC Davis, he actively engages in teaching and mentoring students, helping to foster the next generation of mathematicians and data scientists.
