Jeffrey Blanchard has taught urban design, architecture, and the art of Renaissance and Baroque Rome for over 40 years. He was awarded the Rome Prize Fellowship from the American Academy in 1978-79 and has resided in Rome, dedicating his career principally to teaching and academic administration for American study programs. His institutional affiliations in Rome include the University of Notre Dame, Pratt Institute, and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. In 1988, he began teaching courses on Renaissance and Baroque architecture and art at Cornell University's Rome program, where he subsequently became the Academic Director and field trip coordinator. He holds a Bachelor's degree in History of Art and Architecture from Stanford University, a Fulbright Fellowship from Università di Firenze, and a Master of Philosophy from Yale University, specializing in the Italian Renaissance.
