Matthew R. Christiansen is a Visiting Lecturer at Yale Law School, teaching advanced topics in Energy Law. With a J.D. from Yale Law School and a B.A. from Columbia University, Christiansen brings a wealth of experience to the classroom. He currently serves as the General Counsel at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), where he has been instrumental in legal advising. Prior to this role, he worked as an Attorney-Advisor in FERC’s Office of General Counsel and as a Legal Advisor to former FERC Commissioner Richard Glick. He also has substantial judicial experience, having clerked for Honorable Jesse M. Furman in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York and Honorable Stephen F. Williams in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. His scholarly work has been published in prestigious journals such as the Harvard Law Review, Texas Law Review, and Energy Law Journal.
