Biography

Jan Gadeyne is a lecturer with extensive experience teaching liberal arts and architecture programs at Rome, Temple University, Cornell University, Trinity College, University of Miami, and Pratt Institute. He has also served as a guest lecturer in Graduate Programs at Yale University, La Sapienza University, and Tunghai University. His courses cover various subjects, such as ancient Roman art and architecture, urban history from Roman antiquity to the Middle Ages, late antique to early Byzantine art and architecture, and ancient history centered around Rome. Gadeyne co-directed excavations at the Roman villa in Piano della Civita, which was occupied from the 4th/3rd centuries BC to the 7th century AD. He holds a Ph.D. in Archaeology and Ancient Art History and has published numerous papers on topics such as Roman lead seals and Early Christian apse mosaics. His scholarly contributions include co-editing a book called 'Perspectives on Public Space in Rome, Antiquity to Present Day' and authorship in 'Intorno alle mura di Roma', which delve into the archaeological and architectural narratives of Rome. His academic training includes a Master's in Classics and specialized studies in late antique art and archaeology at renowned institutions.
