Anna Gorchakovskaya is an independent researcher and curator based in Rome. She holds a degree in Art History from the University of Bologna (2016) and a master’s degree in Gender Studies from Roma Tre University (2019). Gorchakovskaya has collaborated with the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice as an Assistant Events Coordinator in 2016. From 2016 to 2020, she was part of the curatorial team at Adiacenze in Bologna, contributing to numerous exhibition projects. Between 2018 and 2021, she worked with Galleria Nazionale D’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea as a curator, researcher, editor, and translator on various curatorial editorial projects, including the design organization Io dico Io – say Women Cosmowomen. In 2020–2021, she curated a show called Focus at Galleria Nazionale d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea and assisted in curating the Bigger than Heroic Voices Ex-Yugoslavia show at MAXXI. In 2021, she co-founded Site, a project aimed at bringing together international realities with the local artistic cultural scene in Rome. In 2022, she coordinated the project Pier Paolo Pasolini and served as the Assistant Curator for the show Pier Paolo Pasolini. Tutto è santo at MAXXI Museo nazionale delle arti del XXI secolo. Gorchakovskaya teaches at Cornell Rome, John Cabot University, and Trinity College Rome Campus, focusing her research on visual activism and politically engaged artistic curatorial practices.
