Biography

Allen Sayegh is a Design Critic and Senior Interaction Technologies Fellow at Harvard University Graduate School of Design, where he also heads the MDes program and directs the Responsive Environments Artifacts Lab. With extensive experience as an architect, designer, and educator, he is the principal of the award-winning design firm INVIVIA. Sayegh has combined teaching and research with practice for over a decade and is a leading figure in technological and transformative design. His research explores the intersection of the built environment and digital technologies, focusing on human experiences shaped by technological advancements. Sayegh's work is known for its innovative approaches to complex problems, and he has a deep interest in visual arts, often serving as a visiting professor at Harvard's Carpenter Center for Visual and Environmental Studies. He offers courses that examine the relationship between media and architecture, such as Sculpting Motion and Interactive Spaces. His projects have been showcased in prestigious venues including the Guggenheim in New York, and he has collaborated with a diverse array of clients including municipalities, corporations, and museums. Sayegh is recognized for his impactful contributions to the field, engaging in interdisciplinary initiatives and shaping future directions in design education.
