Biography

Edith Root McMillan Dietz is a general pediatrician at the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, with her primary focus on primary care within a community hospital setting. She has been dedicated to serving the needs of children and their families, particularly immigrant families, since joining the hospital in 2014 after completing her pediatric residency at the Johns Hopkins Children's Center. Dr. Dietz received her medical degree from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 2011. Prior to her medical training, she earned an undergraduate degree in Anthropology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and participated as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Gabon, Central Africa, focusing on community health. Her clinical responsibilities include caring for a diverse patient population spanning from infants to adolescents. She is also passionate about teaching medical students and residents in the field of pediatrics, fostering a new generation of healthcare professionals. Additionally, Dr. Dietz is fluent in both English and Spanish, enhancing her ability to communicate effectively with her patients and their families.
