Nicholas Lundgren is a Lecturer at Cornell University with over 20 years of experience in affordable housing and economic development law and policy across both government and non-profit sectors. He is currently the General Counsel at New Destiny Housing Corporation, a non-profit supportive housing developer in New York City. Previously, he served as General Counsel for the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development, which is the nation’s largest municipal housing preservation and development agency. In 2012, Lundgren played a pivotal role in the formation of Connecticut’s Department of Housing as Deputy Commissioner, where he assisted in creating and preserving affordable housing while aiming to reduce homelessness. His career also includes time in private practice and as the founder of the Community Development Project at the Legal Aid Society in New York City. Lundgren holds a B.A. from Stanford University and a J.D. from Harvard Law School.
