Biography

Dorothy S. Lund is a Professor of Law at Columbia Law School, having joined the faculty on July 1, 2023. She has an extensive background in corporate law, corporate governance, securities regulation, contracts, and mergers and acquisitions. Lund co-directs Columbia Law School's Ira M. Millstein Center for Global Markets and Corporate Ownership. She has published work in esteemed journals such as the Columbia Law Review, Journal of Corporation Law, and Texas Law Review, and her articles have been recognized as top corporate securities law articles multiple times. Prior to her tenure at Columbia, she was an Associate Professor at the University of Southern California Gould School of Law, and held visiting professorships at elite institutions like the University of Chicago Law School and University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School. Lund has also practiced corporate law at Sullivan & Cromwell and clerked for Chief Justice Leo E. Strine Jr. at the Delaware Supreme Court. Besides academia, she contributes to popular publications including the New York Atlantic and the Wall Street Journal, and co-authored 'Corporations and Business Associations' with Charles R.T. O’Kelley and Robert B. Thompson.
