Biography

Dimitrios Peroulis is a Senior Vice President of Partnerships Online and Reilly Professor in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Purdue University. He leads initiatives in Industry Partnerships, Global Partnerships, and Online Programs, contributing significantly to the university's engagement efforts. Previously, he served as the Michael and Katherine Birck Head of Electrical and Computer Engineering and as a special advisor to the Dean of Engineering for online learning. His research interests encompass high-frequency reconfigurable electronics, antennas, photonic time crystals, and microwave heating for pharmaceutical freeze-drying. Peroulis is known for his work on high-quality, tunable filters and innovative filter designs based on miniaturized high-Q cavity-based resonators. He has authored over 450 journal and conference papers and has received recognitions such as the National Science Foundation CAREER Award in 2008 and the Tatsuo Itoh Award in 2019. Peroulis is a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and has received several awards for his teaching and contributions to the field, including the IEEE-HKN C. Holmes MacDonald Outstanding Teaching Award and Purdue's Charles B. Murphy Outstanding Undergraduate Teaching Award.
